Product Description
The debut album from the British singing sensation who stunned the judges, audience and TV world, coming out of nowhere to audition for Britains Got Talent with a powerfully moving rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. Like Paul Potts the year before in BGT, Boyles humble appearance belied her amazingly rich, beautiful voice that won the hearts of listeners worldwide. This first album is the talk of the music world after Susans recent performance on national TV in America of an incredible rendition of Wild Horses. Includes I Dreamed a Dream, Wild Horses, Amazing Grace and many more jewels. Artist: Susan Boyle Format: Music CD Publisher/Mfg: Ignatius Press Mfg Code: IDD-D Track List: 1. Wild Horses 2. A beautiful CD. The only drawback is Silent Night, which is out of place.

Someone gave me this cd because they thought one trained singer would enjoy another. I listened to the whole cd then tossed it in the trash. Can she sing? well I'll be nice enough to say that she does sing better than the average person but her lack of training is very evident. It has led me to the conclusion that she is highly overrated and, as another person put it, if she was beautiful instead of a homely middle aged fat women she wouldn't even be on people's radar. It's sad that this dribble is considered "great music" by so many people. But then again, most people don't really understand great music any ways and tend to like whatever record executives tell them to like, like little robots. It's truly sad to see someone like her praised when there are so many superior, well trained, vocally impressive singers out there that go unnoticed because they don't have Simon Cowell to pimp them out to the public.

This is a versatile CD. I listen to it both when I need to relax and to feel motivated.

4 out of 5 stars A fresh, sweet voice   August 22, 2010

Susan Boyle has a lovely, almost girlish voice. I enjoyed this CD very much. I hope she will do more. I believe she has a place in today's music world.

I love every song on this CD! Susan Boyle has an amazing voice. The title song is probably the most recognized since she totally blew away Simon Cowell when she sang the first note of it. But my favorite is Wild Horses, with its haunting melody and words. Not being a big fan of the Rolling Stones, I was not familiar with this song prior to listening to the CD so I will always associate it with Susan Boyle and I don't think anyone could do it better. I also really like "Who I Was Born To Be". The collection of songs is quite eclectic, from spiritual to rock and roll, and she handles them all beautifully. It is somewhat difficult to understand some of the words - must be her accent - but the lyrics for each song are included along with some of her thoughts about each one. I'm looking forward to her next CD.
