We have always thought Steve Martin is a great banjo picker and have enjoyed everything we have heard. Perhaps we expected too much. We honestly didn't care for anything on the CD. We were hoping to hear more of a bluegrass type selection and that just isn't what is on this CD. I'm not really sure how to classify the songs, but we don't care for it.

The music is charming and smart and feels generally great to listen to. The four vocal songs are great, and the instrumentals are cleverly put together. I really admire Steve Martin for putting this together.

This was a treat, what a talent - just when I thought I knew all there was about Steve Martin (stand up and film),now pure banjo picking - wow! I loved his comedy and his acting (well much of it) and had never really been a banjo picker devote', but this CD presents a new side not seen before and I'm hooked. The more I listened the more I liked. Can't wait for more.

The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo was a pure delight to listen to. Steve Martin does not disappoint and his music leaves me wanting more. This CD is only intended for people who want to feel upbeat, happy and toe-tapping. I was surprised that the new release was not carried in a lot of stories, but easily obtainable with Amazon.
